Car Remote Starter / Alarm Review
I just bought this model last week and had it installed. There were several remote starters to chose from, and feedback from end users were all over the board. Let me start by saying I'm not the biggest fan of buying anything that has a "5 star" rating from one person and a "1 star" rating from the next. That being said, under that rule alone finding a starter was near impossible. So, I kept my "must haves" to be as specific as possible to rule out as many starters as possible. I needed to have the following: 1.) Something that would let me know the car had successfully started; 2.) a remote that could be recharged; 3.) a remote that would work despite being inside of a building (or otherwise obstructed). Put those must haves together and this is the remote you are looking for. After heeding the advice of nearly every review I seemingly read, I decided I would shell out the cash to have a professional install the remote. Good thing, too. Good alarm but be prepared.
I installed this system by my self on my 2004 Ford explorer. Viper doesn't like for you to install it by yourself, they want you to pay 400-600 to have a "pro" to install it and take shortcuts. The hardest thing to do is to find the wires in your car and to match them up with the wires that go into the brain. They only tell you very vague information about their wires. The only way to learn more about what wires is to become a licensed viper dealer, pay them money, sell their alarms and then you can get their wiring information. Welcome to the 21st century Viper, google works very well and made my install successful and free. I give this company a .5 star review but the product a 5 star.Modules I bought. Amazing
Purchased this alarm from hooked on tronics and arrived in a timely manner. I really liked that they made me sign for the package vs just leaving it at the door. I installed this myself and couldn't get the remote start to work. Turns out I had to disconnect the bypass module from the brain to program the remote start! Once programmed I plugs it back in and worked like a charm. I really dislike that they don't give you install instructions! The remote is a little sensitive if I keep the remote in my pocket and i tend to accidentally start my car!

Don't waste your money buying this alarm at local shops. Buy it from amazon and save over a thousand.
This a fantastic bargain , my local car stereo shop (Mobile-one) has it for $699.00 and another $600.00 for installation. The alarm has everything you could one on a modern alarm /remote start . It also comes with 2 ports for xtra sensors which is great . I payed at mobile-one $1100.00 for a viper 5901 last january , the alarm only lasted 11 months and the brain went out, I brought it back to them , since they installed it , they took the brain out and told me to send it to viper my self , Viper does not want to give another alarm ( so dont believe that bull crap about a lifetime warranty from viper) . the best thing you can do is to order it from Amazon with all the xtras ( radar sensor, ultrasonic sensor, 516U voice module ) and you will only spend about $420.00 which is better than 1100.00 . By the way the reason I dont like the remotes is because they are to sensitive , if you dont pay attention the car will star with out you even known it.9

The answer to a broken key fob!
I highly recommend this product. I bought it about 2 years ago, and it has stood up quite nicely. My old key fob (actually, my husband's too, for the same car) had the tiny plastic ring snap off that you thread onto your keyring. We had to either manually open the car door with the key or had to dig in purses and pockets to use the broken fob. My mechanic suggested I buy this and boy, am I glad I did!One caveat: you do have to press down on the buttons a little hard, since there is a plastic covering over the buttons. However, I still give this 5 stars for solving my problem!

Perfect, low frills "Starter", NOT ALARM... Just a starting system
This remote start was installed in a 93 Toyota P/U, Manual and fuel injected. My vehicle had no special options, such as power locks, windows, installed alarm, etc.I'm currently stationed in Alaska and a remote start is pretty much a necessity up here. I did some research before purchasing this system and determined that this was a no/low frills unit and would exactly meet my needs. Below are a few things that I would point out to people interested in purchasing and installing this themselves:This unit will integrate into a vehicle with an existing "factory" alarm. Pretty Good
This remote starter does what it says. It does have a pretty good remote distance. Took about 2 hours to install. Virtual Tach setting works really well. I wish the 2-way remote was a little more user friendly and actually let you know if your car is running or when it shuts down, it just confirms if your car got the initial start signal.

Bulldog KE1702 - clean, simple, exactly what I was looking for
The 95 Accord I recently purchased had standard power locks. However, the driver's door had been tampered with to the point that the cylinder was totally disconnected from the lock, forcing me to have to go around and unlock from the passenger's side every time. Needless to say, this was quite annoying. After considering trying to fix the mechanical parts, I stumbled across this unit and figured it would be a cheap, practical way to bypass the problem entirely while adding more overall convenience to the vehicle. Amazon delivered it promptly as always, and it was exactly as described and pictured. I chose to install only the basic lock/unlock functionality as I have no need for light flash, starter kill, etc. So far the unit performs perfectly in this capacity. Range is at least 25-30 feet, even without the antenna wire installed in a straight line as they suggest. The remotes seem to be high quality: the buttons are soft but firm rubber, and the case has a rubberized feel and a tiny...

Easy to install, good range
The unit was easy to test and install and has a range of about 100 feet.For basic testing, temporarily connect the power and ground wires and listen to internal relay clicks while pressing lock and unlock buttons on one of the remotes.To get a good range, it is important to place the antenna wire as close as possible to the top surface of the dashboard so that there is no or little metal between the antenna and the dashboard plastic.The package includes a relay for "starter kill". If you do not need that function, you can use the relay to take advantage of other capabilities that require a separately purchased relay (e.g., parking light lock/unlock confirmation).The instructions in the documentation for pairing the second remote are apparently outdated. A breeze to install...
Very cheap, easy to install keyless entry. The only thing holding it back from 5 stars it that out of the box, the range was horrible (10-15ft.) Not sure if this is a problem with old batteries, or if it just has poor range.Update: The unit has now ceased to work at all. Still getting good power and ground, but unit refuses to operate. Dissapointing since I haven't had it very long.

I purchased this radio for my 1991 Ford Explorer. I will admit a was a little iffy about this radio but so far it has worked perfectly. The radio works fine its very easy to install and the cd/dvd player works great. To make the dvd player work you have to plug the parking brake green wire to the parking break system but if your like myself you have no idea what that is. I just went online and searched for a bypass for boss radio parking brake wire and it simply told me the answer, went outside and tried it worked great. :) So thankful for technology and blogs! Other then that one thing that bugged me is the when you turn up the radio there is a clicking noise which is quite loud. If you like myself I hate the clicking noise, but you get used to it. The screen for movies is very good quality! When you plug in the ipod through USB it syncs with the deck but the letters are very small, its a little difficult to read but if your like myself once again I just go through the folders not...

Installed this the other day in my pontoon boat.The sound is much better than expected - very happy.The screen is very clear and more than acceptable.This stereo also had two additional Video-Outputs. I connected one to a dash mounted 7" Legacy Monitor and it looks great. Note - the Video-Outputs DO NOT show output when in "Radio Mode". But do show output when a CD/MP3/DVD Movie are inserted.Tested Terminator 2 in DVD Mode - Looked and sounded great!Camera Input which works as expected.Tested a purchased DVD movie, three different Home-Made DVD Movies, DVD with MP3's, CD & CD with MP3's, ALL worked with NO Problem!For the "Parking Break Safety Feature", just Ground the Green wire to any ground to bypass.Note - The reason for a "4-Star" rating and not 5 - The Product Description makes it sound like a "Touch-Screen", it is NOT a Touchscreen, it is Touch "Controls" only. Decent quality at low price
I bought this Boss BV7320 for my jeep liberty 2007, easy install and looks nice. It does everything I want, SD card and USB is very nice to have, I hardly ever have to use an actual CD with those functions. When you first turn on the stereo it takes a moment to load and the clock is hard to read but everything works and I am loving it. The monitor is a nice size for watching DVDs and sound quality is good. Not a bad inexpensive upgrade for the sale price.
